The Reviews - Blogs

This is a small overview/review of the blogs that we have listed here at WiseLink:

DDP...It's All About The Journey
This is is written by and for those that are survivors of DDP (Discipleship Development Program) which we (WISE TaskGroup) support. It also includes details of other important news to do with DDP.

Edit - this blog has now been moved to a MySpace page - DDP
, so join up today.

Gospel Notes
This site is full of interesting sermons, definitely worth the read.
As per the about page of this blog - Duncan Macleod developed this blog, originally at gospelnotes.blogspot.com, in November 2004, to start exploring an approach to the Christian gospel through the lense of Jesus’ life, death and resurrection. He is a minister with the Uniting Church in Australia and at times is regularly involved in preaching with the readings from the Revised Common Lectionary. Mark Cornford is a Uniting Church youth worker, pastoring a congregation in Deception Bay. He started blogging his sermon notes at Yahoo in 2006.

Pacific Highlander
Also by Duncan Macleod, his personal blog.

Jesus Creed
Scot McKnight is a prolific writer both in print and online here, there are many discussions that are running all the time. Scot is an insightful writer who continues to seek God in all things.
As per the bio of this blog-
Scot McKnight is a widely-recognized authority on the New Testament, early Christianity, and the historical Jesus. He is the Karl A. Olsson Professor in Religious Studies at North Park University (Chicago, Illinois). A popular and witty speaker, Dr. McKnight has given interviews on radios across the nation, has appeared on television, and is regularly asked to speak in local churches and educational events. Dr. McKnight obtained his Ph.D. at the University of Nottingham (1986).
Riessen's Reasoning
From the intrepid Mark Riessen and in his words-
"After 8 years in ministry in Victoria, Verity and I are back in our home land - Adelaide, South Australia. I am the Ministry Team Leader at Blackwood Church of Christ in the Adelaide hills. I hope you enjoy my blog."
Reflection on Formation
Written by the illustrious Sae of the DDP blog, this is another way to 'chew the fat'.

Signposts
One this country's leading religious blogs, run by 2 pastors from Melbourne, the discussions are lively and interesting with a wide variety of thought patterns.

The Hub
This one is definately worth the read if you have lots to do with Youth.
As per this blog's about me-
"Mark is the director of the Hub, an initiative of Tabor Victoria to provide research, commentary and insight into today’s culture and the pertinent issues affecting the lives of young adults. Mark also spends his time doing mission and ministry with the Red Network an innovative network of urban churches. Mark is also the national research and development director of the Forge Mission Network. He is married to Trudi."

The Merry Rose
This blog/website is by The Merry Rose who is one of the members of the WISE TaskGroup in SA&NT. She talks about what she lives, sees, hears and reads, and she loves to discuss stuff that isn't necessarily what she believes. As she says it:
"If you succeed through violence at the expense of other's rights and welfare, you have not solved the problem, but only created the seeds for another." - Dalai Lama & "Be the change you wish to see in the world." - Mohandas Gandhi
Bilbo Speaks
This blog is one of poetry written by The Merry Rose. They have been written over the past 16 years. The poems are available for use (under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 2.5 License), please let her know when you are going to use them, and remember that these are her originals and a tiny part of her soul. Some are already in clips, and other forms of publication.

"'Remember what Bilbo used to say: It's a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don't keep your feet, there's no knowing where you might be swept off to.'" - J.R.R. Tolkien
The World of Frank
This is some of the news and photos from Franks Sanders who is working for the PNG Churches of Christ as a Community Development Officer currently, which his trusty friend helps him to run.

wecan.be
We Can Be - is the blog of Dave Andrews, Sammy Jockel, Ben Thurley and Ralph & Andrew.

And their philosophy is:
We can see the workable virtues advocated in the values that are blessed in the Be-Attitudes
1. Blessed are the poor - or poor in spirit – who do not trust in status or riches
2. Blessed are those who mourn – who grieve over the injustice in the world
3. Blessed are the meek – who get angry but who never get aggressive
4. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness - who seek justice
5. Blessed are the merciful – who are compassionate to everyone in need
6. Blessed are the pure in heart – who are whole-hearted in desire to do right
7. Blessed are the peacemakers – who work for peace in a world at war
8. Blessed are those persecuted for righteousness - who suffer for just causes

As further blogs are added to the listings, I will hopefully review them individually.

Many Thanks
